Pardon my fingers but it’s 25F out w/ 20 mph winds. And I love manila beige.

I had a diesel Benz for a while. While I hated it for being the slowest vehicle ever produced by mankind, I was totally amazed at how light those aluminum wheels were. Best part of the car.
Well, the smell of the leather was nice too - but it was usually overpowered by the smell of diesel fuel.

Had an ‘87 W124 300D, bought new. Turbo and trap oxidizer went, but MB paid. No leather, so it sat on the lot. Paid $34,800 on a $42,570 sticker. Lots of replaced window lifts, a few other major repairs under warranty. Loved the car, but always wondered if I should have bought a late-stage W123 wagon.

Only W123 sold here w/ manual (4 speed) was the 240D - 300Ds were all automatics.

At least you had the turbo. I had the older non-turbo. It was dangerous to drive on modern highways; you couldn’t merge at highway speed with first having a mile long ramp-up.
I do still love the 123's and 124's though. Just give me one that runs on gas!
